Barn Cats

Kitty City Barn Cat Program

Also known as the Working Cat Program, this initiative provides safe, long-term placements for cats who thrive outside of traditional homes. Over the years, we’ve helped hundreds of cats find environments where they can live healthy, purposeful lives.

Our barn is home to a wide variety of cats, including those with litter box aversion, healthy FIV-positive cats we are able to monitor, independent disabled cats who do not require daily assistance, and some feral cats.

Kitty City accepts cats from partner rescues, local impounds, and stray situations. Every barn cat is fully vetted before placement and will be humanely trapped again if future veterinary care is needed. Cats receive daily food and water and have access to beds, straw, a hay loft, cat trees, private resting areas, and a heated barn during colder months.

These cats are free to roam the property as they choose, you’ll often spot them patrolling the grounds and doing what barn cats do best. Our barn camera helps us ensure everyone is safe, healthy, and accounted for.

When space is limited, Kitty City also partners with trusted local barns willing to provide homes for working cats in need.
